# Beginner

In closing, this page is about a seemingly simple cheatsheet for the beginner for macs.

If you are transitioning from Windows or Linux here are a few pointers.

`cmd` is the alternative of `Ctrl`

So the common shortcuts now are: `cmd` + `S`, `cmd` + `C`, `cmd` + `V`, `cmd` + `X`

`cmd` + `spacebar` - Spotlight Search (to search for installed apps on the MAC)

`Two finger click` - is the equivalent of Right-clicking

`Three finger swipe` to the right or left -> switches between desktop screens

`Three finger swipe` to the top -> switches between open apps on the desktop

`cmd` + `shift` + `3` - Full screen screenshot

`cmd` + `shift` + `4` - Select screenshot
